The Great Ocean Road
The Great Ocean Road is probably one of the most famous drives in all of Australia, if not the world. Running for 243 kilometres along the southeastern coast of Australia, it stretches between the cities of Torquay and Warrnambool in Victoria. There are many side trips to take from the main drive; stop at dazzling viewing points, relax on the beach, swim in the sea, venture into the forests, refuel and restock in small local towns, and have the time of your life! Mount Gambier is a popular stop, and you can visit some of the area’s best wineries with ease. Just don’t drink and drive! One of the most iconic views, however, is that of the stunning rock formation known as the Twelve Apostles.
The Gibb River Road
The Kimberley is one of Australia’s most sensational landscapes. A wild plateau at the top end of Western Australia, it really does offer a great many treats for the eyes. The Gibb River Road is a terrific way to experience the area and cover a lot of ground with ease. Stretching for 709 kilometres, having a four-wheel-drive vehicle is pretty much essential. There are rugged and dramatic mountain ranges to explore and admire, including Pentecost, King Leopold, Barnett, and Cockburn. The river gorges are also terrific stops that are sure to impress. A playground of nature, try to spot the many bird species that live in the area, including cockatoos, kites, eagles, and crows.
Blackall Range Tourist Drive
Located in Queensland and stretching for 55 kilometres, the Blackall Range Tourist Drive is a great option if time is short but you still want to enjoy the feeling of being on the open road and the freedom of exploring Australia with your own set of wheels. There are a number of small and serene townships up in the mountains that give great views the Sunshine Coast and the Moreton Islands in the distance. See the greens of the hinterland and the blues of the ocean, the sands, the valleys, and more!

Situated in South Australia, the Eyre Peninsula Drive is an extraordinary 745-kilometre route that takes you across the whole splendid peninsula. Glorious scenery, charming coastal towns, and plentiful attractions and activities await. The area is especially known for its rugged coastline, stunning bays, laid-back beach towns, interesting marine wildlife, great fishing opportunities, and tasty fresh seafood.
