Okay, Broken Bow is actually in the state of Oklahoma, But, it is only a 3 hour drive from Dallas, and it has a lot to offer. Go fishing, horseback riding, ATV riding, and you can even book a cabin for the evening. There is so much to do at The Broken Arrow, Texans will forgive you for crossing the state line.

  • The Dream USA Motorbike Cruise!

    mountain motorbike adventure

If you’re a keen motorbike enthusiast, there’s no more exciting prospect than planning a Dream USA Motorbike Cruise along America’s west coast from San Francisco to Portland. The Pacific Coast Road takes in some amazing scenery along its 2000 mile length, from the rolling wine country of California to the towering redwoods of Oregon, and is a wonderful place to experience the true beauty of the USA’s westernmost regions.

If you’re planning your dream motorbike cruise, we offer you some handy tips and suggestions of things to see and do to get the most out of your break.

    Planning Your Trip

When planning your dream motorbike cruise, it’s important to decide where your stops are going to be and just how much distance to cover each day. There’s no point in trying to cover too many miles in one go, otherwise you’ll miss out on all the fun of sightseeing and you’ll just get overtired. While the I5 is the most direct route, there is very little to see.

Instead, take the 101 coastal road with its lovely views and more leisurely pace. If you can spare the time, you need at least 10 days to see the best of this area, however it is possible to complete the route in around 4 to 5 days if you need to. One thing to bear in mind is that the roads are much quieter in the early morning, so aim to be out and about by 7am so that you don’t waste time stuck in traffic.

The American west coast is famous for its many wonderful sights and landmarks. San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge is a must-see, and a drive down the city’s crooked Lombard and Vermont Streets is a must-do on your motorbike. As you drive through California you should take the time to stop off at Myers Flat where you can actually drive through a giant redwood tree – this is a unique and exciting thing to on two wheels!

Drive through the impressive Redwood National Park and then visit the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville where you can admire Howard Hughes’ famous wooden aeroplane, the Spruce Goose. The cave tours at the Oregon Caves National Monument are fascinating while Crater Lake, although slightly off the main route is well worth the detour for its gorgeous scenery.

    Preparing For Your Trip

Being well prepared is the key to enjoying your dream trip to the max. Make sure that you check the weather forecast for the route before you go and ensure that you have packed the most appropriate clothing for your trip. You should consider taking a pair of earplugs with you, as riding for long periods on the highway can be hard on the ears, and making sure that you have a smartphone with GPS capabilities will make sure that you’re fully equipped if you get lost en route. You should also take the time to look for garages and motorcycle repair shops along your planned journey.

If you break down, you don’t want to be wondering where you can find a mechanic or spare motorcycle parts to get you back on your way, and you don’t want to be stranded without any idea where you can top up with fuel.

  • USA Bucket List: Colorado!

If you’re like me and love the outdoor life, you’re to have Colorado on your USA bucket list!

Home to the spectacular Rockies, world class skiing and stunning river canyons, there is enough to do here to keep even the most ardent outdoor enthusiast busy, so I couldn’t wait to pull on my hiking shoes and explore this beautiful state. I discovered a wealth of activities and attractions to keep both adventure seekers and those in search of more relaxing pastimes satisfied, so here are some of the best that Colorado has to offer.

    Winter Sports

Colorado is best known for its 25 ski resorts offering downhill and cross-country skiing for experts and beginners alike, however there are plenty of other thrilling winter sports to enjoy too. From snowboarding and snowmobiling to ice skating and dog sledding, there are activities to encourage everyone out onto the slopes. I particularly enjoyed the Apres Ski, and there are plenty of food and drink options to choose from at the cosy restaurants and bars that nestle around the state’s popular Nordic centres.

    Where To Stay

Colorado has a heap of options when it comes to choosing accommodation. Whether you prefer the luxury of one of the hot springs resorts, the cosmopolitan experience of an upmarket city centre hotel or a traditional mountain cabin, you are spoiled for choice here. For those who value independence and enjoy plenty of living space, there are plenty of incredible Colorado vacation rentals on offer, while those who want to sleep under the stars will love camping in one of the state parks.

    Dude Ranching

    Lake in Colorado

Keen horse riders will love the experience of an authentic Colorado Dude Ranch. One of the best ways to take time out from the busy modern world and truly unwind in the splendour of nature, dude ranching is the ideal way to escape to the mountains and create enduring memories. I relished the opportunity to try my hand at the inclusive activities such as fishing, white water rafting and rock climbing and then returning to the rustic ranch to relax in an atmosphere of historic charm.

    Stunning Scenery

    vivid colorado mountain range

I found that one of the best ways to explore Colorado’s spectacular landscapes is by mountain bike, although taking a scenic drive through the state’s 42 state parks is just as impressive. From unwinding on the beach in the clean Rocky Mountain air of Steamboat Lake to trekking the winding trails of Castlewood Canyon, and from kayaking in the Arkansas Headwaters to a quiet picnic on the prairies at Cherry Creek, Colorado’s natural environment is hard to beat for its beauty and variety.

    Outstanding Attractions

I thought that I had better investigate some of the state’s more leisurely pursuits, and I was delighted to discover some amazing relaxing attractions. The Denver Zoo is a wonderful place to get up close to wildlife, while the One Hundred Gold Mine Tour in Silverton gives a glimpse into a mysterious underground world! The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad takes tourists back into the Old West from the comfort of a historic steam train while the Old Town Museum in Burlington represents a fantastic opportunity to learn more about a bygone era.

  • Is Cannabis Tourism in the USA now a Thing?

Self portrait - Me and my right hand man

The large and diverse USA is a popular travel destination for people from all over the world. Due to its size and many different terrains, climates, attractions, landscapes, and cultures, it is also no surprise that many people from the US take their vacations in their home country, travelling around to different states and cities.

There are many reasons to visit the USA; whether you’re looking for beaches, national parks, mountains, nature, theme parks, music, night life, shopping, a taste of the local cuisine, history, or more, you’ll certainly find a part of the USA that is perfect for you!

There is another, newer, reason for people to visit the USA, and that is cannabis tourism. With weed being legal in some parts of the country, they are now attracting people from places where laws related to marijuana use aren’t so lenient, including people from other parts of the USA. If you want to enjoy a smoke whilst on your holidays, the USA could be a great new option for your break.

    What Does the Law Say?

    Untitled

Federal law makes using, possessing, growing, transporting, and selling cannabis illegal in the USA. However, there are provisions for individual states to decriminalise cannabis if they want, as long as they have regulations in place to deal with marijuana use. Decriminalisation can be for medical reasons, for recreation and leisure, or both.

What is the Difference Between Legalising and Decriminalising?

Legalising something, in this case marijuana, means that there are no criminal repercussions for anyone in the chain of cultivation, processing, transporting, selling, and using. The legal process means that the industry can be regulated, controlled, and taxed, in the same way as any other industry or enterprise. There is no criminal conduct at all.

Decriminalisation, on the other hand, means that an action can no longer be treated as a criminal offence. It can, however, still be treated as a breach of civil laws. It may also only apply to the end user, as opposed to the suppliers … which means that the industry will still largely be dominated by illegal gangs.

So Where is Weed Legal in the USA?

    Cannabis Cannabus?

Some states have completely legalised cannabis for recreational and medical use. These are Colorado, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. DC is trying to legalise cannabis also. In Maine, cannabis is legal in Portland and South Portland.

Other states have legalised cannabis use for medical reasons, as has Guam.

    Others have decriminalised cannabis possession.

This means that the best places to enjoy a smoke are those that have legalised cannabis completely. Not only does this prevent you from getting into any bother yourself, but it also makes sure that you are not inadvertently fuelling mistreatment of workers, violence, and harmful illegal activities in other parts of the world.

    Enjoying Weed in the US

    When in Amsterdam...

Colorado, Alaska, Washington, and Oregon are the best places to combine your love of cannabis with a fun vacation – each one offers something completely different and you are sure to have a great time! If you can get your hands on some weed in one of these places, hit up some OG Kush or Purple Haze for a cheeky toke with absolutely no worries at all!
