The Ki Monastary is situated high in India‘s Himalayan region in the remote Spiti Valley. A few hundred Buddhist monks live here permanently, studying and worshiping in probably one of the most serene places we’ve ever seen.

The Golden Temple in the northern city of Amritsar is the holiest Sikh religious site in the world, with millions worldwide travelling to India each year to visit the temple. Beautiful white marble and gold clad buildings surround the Golden Temple, which is in the centre of a pool of holy water.

Pilgrims come every day from all over the globe to pray and visit the exact spot where Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. Thousands of candles are lit and carefully placed, eventually turning into puddles of melted wax that the monks have to clean up!

Taken during our stay on Koh Phi Phi, a popular island in southern Thailand. The ‘Reggae’ bar held Thai-boxing bouts every night to entertain the masses while they sunk endless whiskey buckets. If you felt tough enough, tourists had the option of slugging it out against each other. A hilarious sight trust me!
